HYPNOSIA Split Up

Swedish thrashers HYPNOSIA have split up after a seven-year existence that has produced two full-length albums. No reason was given for the band's break-up.

A message on the group's official web site states simply: "HYPNOSIA R.I.P. 1995-2002. HYPNOSIA has gone back to Hell, and is no longer! I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those true to the underground and who supported HYPNOSIA for these last 7 years, HAIL!!! [Guitarist/vocalist] Cab [Castervall], on behalf of HYPNOSIA, June 11, 2002. No e-mails, interviews etc., will be answered!!!"

At the time of their split, HYPNOSIA were hard at work on the follow-up to last year's Extreme Hatred album, which carried the working title of World Sacrifice.

Although no official word has come down as of yet, it is believed that Castervall will concentrate his efforts in the immediate future on UNERAL, the "dark and blasphemous" death metal band he started with SOIL OF THE UNDEAD drummer Chrille earlier this year. The group, presently unsigned, are expected to record their debut demo in the next couple of months.
